Castan Vilanova Terrocita Single Cask Single Malt (No. 73)

Distillerie Castan lies northeast of Toulouse and makes this peated whisky disgorged from a white wine cask. The nose has pear apple pie and vanilla and it’s quite intensely spicy with cinnamon pepper and eucalyptus. A superb flavor trajectory beginning with sweet lemon bonbons baked apple cinnamon and pepper then baked orange desserts ending on a hint of smoke. Lime zest spices and mild smoke to finish.
